Ben Affleck calls filming Justice League "frightful" and "the worst experience"
Ben Affleck has spoken down about his experience filming Justice League.
The doer played Batman in the movie, which had a especially troubled production. Director Zack Snyder stepped forth from the film after the demise of his daughter, and The Avengers helmer Joss Whedon then oversaw reshoots that drastically denaturised the tone and plot of the motion picture.
"IT was really Justice Conference that was the nadir for me," Affleck told the Los Angeles Times. "That was a bad experience because of a confluence of things: my own life sentence, my divorce, being inaccurate too much, the competing agendas and then Zack's personal cataclys and the reshooting."
He continued: "It just was the worst feel. It was awful. It was everything that I didn't alike about this. That became the present moment where I said, 'I'm not doing this anymore.' It's not even about, like, Justice League was then bad. Because it could have been anything."
Snyder's vision for the film was brought to screen in Zack Snyder's Justice League, which was discharged in March 2021. Despite a vocal fan run to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, it seems the Snyder New-mown is the stop of the route for that corner of the DCEU.
Affleck will reprise his role Eastern Samoa Batman in The Flash, the DC Comics movie centralized along Ezra Miller's legal right scarlet speedster. IT seems this will be the finale time we visualise Affleck in the cape and cowl, though, as Michael Keaton bequeath play the vigilante in the upcoming Batgirl movie (and appear in The Scud).
Henry Martyn Robert Pattinson is likewise stepping into the role's shoes in The Batman, which hitherto is unconnected to the wider D.C. movie universe. Initially, Affleck was set to play the vigilance man in that film, overly, and he explained why he walked away: "I looked at it and thought, 'I'm not loss to equal happy doing this. The person World Health Organization does this should love information technology.' You're putative to always want these things, and I probably would have loved doing it at 32 or something. But information technology was the point where I started to bring i it's not worth it. Information technology's just a wonderful benefit of reorienting and recalibrating your priorities that once it started being more than about the experience, I felt more at ease."
The Flash releases this November 4. In the meantime, check out our guide to observance DC movies in order for the ultimate movie battle of Marathon.
